Dinner disturbed by a wood pigeon crashing into the glass of the back door.
Then an Aldi trek chiefly for washing up liquid and Tesco for more cheap Freefrom items. Encountered one friendly cat outbound and another not so sure on the return that it looked like it might try to hide flat on the ground in the middle of a road junction:laugh: Then annoyed a van driver at a pedestrian crossing. Thinks do I need to press the button? Car coming from the right, van coming from the left then a gap in traffic. So walked out behind the car expecting the van to go pass and it stopped with a mouthful coming from it's driver :banghead:

Been down the polling station quick sharp. Daughter had been checking 'stats' and it's looking like a close one to keep the 'baddies' out, so a bit of strategic voting (and my wife knows the candidate).

It's been a chilly and grey day here chez Casa Reynard, and we seem to have escaped the forecast rain.

Slept well enough, but still short on quantity. Also woke up with a stiff back. Am beginning to wonder if I'm accommodating a nocturnal purry hot water bottle in my sleep. Anyways, downstairs, fed the cat and took a :cuppa: back upstairs to work on the writing.

Did the chores at a more godly hour. Couldn't do any more weeding as my green bin is full, so put it out for collection in the morning. Only to discover that my new black waste wheelie bin and food waste caddies had been delivered. Spent the rest of the morning working on fixing the strimmer.

The screws have a weird six lobe slot in the top, which is why I couldn't get a phillips head screwdriver to seat. But I *did* manage to find a flat head screwdriver that fit snugly, and *very carefully* managed to undo said screws. I think the GT85 helped too. But I was having a nightmare of a time trying to refit the pull cord - it was like trying to shove a wet bit of spaghetti up a cat's arse...

Eventually gave up and broke off for luncheon. Which was a cheese & salad roll, a yoghurt with strawberries and a pot of tea.

After looking at some Youtube vids (useless) and some further thinking time, I fused the end of the cord with a lighter, and then once it had set solid, trimmed it to a point. And then, with the help of an upholstery needle, managed to thread the cord through the hole. The remainder of the fix was pretty straightforward. Oh, and I thoroughly greased the screws before reassembling everything.

The fixed strimmer started first time, and so, it being a cool day, I did a whole load. Go me! :wahhey:

I've had a quiet evening watching the World Seniors snooker.

Supper was a reprise of last night's ma po tofu, rice and veggies.

Quite happy, as today I finished the salad leaves, the part-baked sub rolls, the broccoli, the edamame beans and the rice. I get a feeling it will take me quite a while to fill up the new food waste caddy...

This evening was a learning experience: I spent it in a specialist bra fitting service

For the missus, I assume. If it was for you, I'd be hella worried.

TBH, it's actually quite easy to measure yourself up. Tape measure under the boobies around the rib cage, and that's the band size in inches. Tape measure over the boobies, and the difference is the cup size. Every inch of delta is up one cup size. You can tweak sizing - rule of thumb is up a band size and down a cup size, or down a band size and up a cup size.

The big problem with bras is that there's not the range of sizes that's really needed as it's cheaper for businesses to make fewer sizes - unfortunately at the detriment od comfort. I do not find it easy to get bras in my size (either a 30DD or a 32D) on the high street.

I have just made myself a nice :cuppa:
