I've landed in Oban, after an extremely long bus journey.
The traffic on the A82/A85 is insane. The bus driver had to stop in places when meeting wide oncoming traffic (mostly campervans and giant caravans). I see why Oldwheels of this parish hated touroids so much.
Even a few brave cycle tourists. I wouldn't ride on that road if you paid me.
I drove that route c2007 in my Peugeot' 205 and remember very little traffic on it. I enjoyed driving it back then. Don't think I would any more if today is typical.
I should really have used the train , but just checking out Citylink's bike booking policy in action as I will probably be using it coming back from Ullapool. It worked very well actually, drivers very helpful. While waiting for the connecting service in Glasgow, I seemed to gain an audience of people interested in my trip.
Weather nice and calm at the moment. Hope it stays that way. Get a chance to sail on the MV Glen Sannox. Only the newest and best for me
