Now in Darliburgh (think I've spelt that right). I had a lovely day despite the headwinds. The ferry sailed to Eriskay too, which was my concern as it was stormy.

I kept meeting the people I met on the ferry and at the hostel as I was out and about today. Solo cycle touring can be surprisingly sociable!

I got here just in time to avoid the rain. It was just starting to drizzle as I walked back from the shop. It sounds torrential now, but it is supposed to dry up in the morning.

A long day ahead of me tomorrow to Berneray. The distance is perfectly doable but it's the wind that will make it difficult. Ideally, I'd have split this in two, but I couldn't find accommodation to make it work without spending a fortune.

I can just relax now and listen to the rain on the window. No fire tonight.

I have ordered a new kettle 'just in case'.
The light in the current one has been occasionally flickering for a while with no problems, but when making the post teatime cuppa this evening it kept going off for a second or two and it sounded like the power was cutting out at the same time. It's done well for something that is eight and a half years old and cost £13 (less a £5 voucher) at the time.

Other than that it's been an evening of doing very little and will carry on in the same style other than making the hot chocolate in a little while.

The switchers and controllers in most of the world's electric kettles are made by a Welsh company.

Morning.
There is some sunshine here but there is a huge bank.of grey cloud to the south which seems to be moving this way.

I was doing a bit of bike spotting yesterday, it's a bit like train spotting but made a bit more difficult by the manufacturers trying to hide their names. Are they embarrassed? I spotted a Trek, Giant, Ephgrave, Planet X Holdsworth Cyclone, Cervelo, Specialized. I think there was a Ribble , I was told that's what it was as I couldn't make out the name.

Whatever happened to Haslett meat? I haven't seen it in the ships in years.

Because the seagulls kept eating it.

Oh, you means shops
