Hebridean Way now complete. I made it much later by basing myself in Stornoway and making the last two days into long loops.

I think they have it right here. Closing everything on Sunday means really quiet roads.

I really enjoyed my ride out to the Butt of Lewis today despite the wet start. I even added miles on the way back, making it about 70 miles.

Ferry back to Ullapool tomorrow, and so begins a long trip back home again.

I've come to conclusion that the average age of guests in youth hostels these days is about 97.

Your conclusion is wrong, it's the style of life on the islands that make the average teenager look older.

Any further sightings of the Ferrari?

A mild and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, and we escaped the rain showers.

Slept quite well, and overslept again. Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it upstairs and settled down to do some writing. Did the basic chores, and then sat down to watch the Formula E from Monaco and the BSB from Donington, which was being broadcast live on Quest.

Food was largely snacky and bun-based, as I had some buns that were in danger of developing language skills. Decided to make a bread pudding with the balance of the buns. And as I was putting it in the oven, the element in there went *POP*

Oh joy. Not helpful. So off to the utility room, dug out my mini oven, and baked the bread pudding in there instead. The edges are a bit, umm, crispy, but I can live with that. Better than throwing out the batter and all that dried fruit...

New element already ordered from an oven spares place on the 'bay. Should be here by Tuesday, and then I can fit it. Have already done it once, albeit with a friend's help, so yeah, fingers crossed I can do it without bloopering.

A quiet evening catching up on the Sumo.
