I only ever went to IKEA once. Saw a loft double bed for the first time, loved it, bought one and it is the one regret I couldn't have it on my boat.

Cycled, refreshing now.

Found beer in the garage. Want hard to find.

Fresh bread in the bread maker.
Cold Beef in the fridge.
Found a recipe for my available ingredients.
Subtle addition of a whisper of wasabi.

Second beer opened, it seems to be evaporating.

Breaking a house rule, not to drink at home on my own before 1800 local time

I was warned that drinking at home on my own was the slippery slope to alcoholism. My "crime" was drinking a bottle of wine over the course of three evenings.

In my case it must have been a steep uphill slope, because that warning was about twenty years ago.

I would like a new chair for the lounge. Decades ago, I acquired one on "Freecycle". I has lasted well, and now I will be purchasing another one, on-line and delivered. The covers for the chair are available in lots of colours.

The last time I was in an Ikea store is about thirty years ago. It was, a nightmare, which I do not intend to repeat.

Maybe you were so drunk you kept falling over and sliding back down again.

As many of you know, I work with people with alcohol addiction, amongst others.

Last week one of my known stable alcoholic clients, had assisted a Polish trade customer a great deal in organising used bikes: this is a pain of a job for me, but my client enjoys it a great deal and has essentially taken over this, to my great relief.

Anyway, the customer was delighted at the number and quality of the bikes available, so as we'd finished, he went to his van, saying he'd got "a small thank you gift", and handed my client a four-pack of Polish beer...

How many years ago did you get back out again?

In Germany Ikea is known as "Idioten Kaufen Einfach Alles" which translates loosely as "Idiots will simply buy anything".

I have to admit I'm going to buy a table from Ikea soon, but I'll be ordering it online...

That was most enjoyable.
A quick ride out to Stowmarket, straight onto the train and home in time for a shower before the electric peak rate kicked in.

Spotting some rain showers out to the west on the Stowmarket approach is why I didn't stop there for a bit, but nothing's materialised this far east yet. Also I was wrong about the warmth - under cloud cover and with the wind in the open countryside to the west it was quite chilly.

As an aside, there were five of us with bikes waiting to get on the train at Stowmarket, only to find when the train arrived that the area was already occupied by 2 prams, 1 road bike and a Brompton with a Henry hoover attached to it (I don't know if it was ridden like that or just secured for transport). One chap dived to the accessible carriage where there was a bit of space and the rest of us only just managed to squeeze in.

I think you were talking about the lack of progress on the new bridge on the Riverlink way. I just read that they'd discovered a water main while sorting out an abutment. So, Lewisham Council can't do anything until Thames Water give them permission to continue.

I have used Ikea a couple of times - one click & collect for a couple of bookcases that only just fitted in the boot of my car and once for various side units & a table for home delivery that wouldn't have fitted in the car. The quality for the cost is very good and including decent measurements for each piece is what swung it for me over other outlets.
