Titan yer tummy

No meatings b4 dinner!
@Titan yer tummy

I think you were talking about the lack of progress on the new bridge on the Riverlink way. I just read that they'd discovered a water main while sorting out an abutment. So, Lewisham Council can't do anything until Thames Water give them permission to continue.

Oh dear oh dear. Hardly likely to be a priority for the water company.

Could be years before it reopens.

Oh woa woa and thrice woa in words of the much missed Lurcio.

But thx for the update. Most helpful.

I set off from work this evening. The sun was out and it pleasantly warm.I was in two minds to drop the roof on the car and enjoy the weather but I'm glad I didn't.
About ten miles down the road the sky turned really dark and when I got to the next village it looked like a monsoon had hit the place.I was behind a petrol tanker and could see the run off water slowly creeping across the road as we climbed up it.The water then turned a very murky colour and noticed the sewer covers had blown all along the pavement.
I will leave it to your imagination of what I could see coming down the road by now and it wasn't very nice.
The stench of it was overwhelming inside the car.
I only gave it a good wash and polish yesterday ☹️ and it's now parked up covered in human effluent.
I hope we get some decent rain tonight just to wash it down.

Now in Ullapool, although I regret just not getting the bus straight to Inverness. I have that booked for tomorrow at 5pm. I had wanted to explore this area as I've never been here before but the cost of accommodation was prohibitive and there don't appear to be many roads to ride on apart from the main road.

I'll have a lazy morning and maybe visit the museum and take a short ride to the lighthouse.

I like Norman McCaig and know he spent a lot of time in this sort of area, and always wanted to see what it looked like.

None of the rain showers made it this far east in the end.

Had a quick catch-up with mum by phone this evening - stepfather is making great progress after his hip replacement and is already back driving so I'm not needed for patient transport duties next week. They paid the hospital by credit card the week before the operation and it's still not appeared on their monthly bill yet!

Other than that, the evening has been spent in the company of the radio and a glass of orange squash with the hot chocolate to be made imminently.
