Funny old 2nd part of the day..
Take a trailer load of pallets to another depot & pick a trunk up (neither elephant nor tree trunk) but a trailer load of stuff to return to the depot. No trunk to collect so run back empty.

Can you take a truck for service, please? Yep. Change trucks and head off. If there's no truck to bring back, drink free coffee until we pick you up (hoping for the 'no truck to bring back' option 😂

@tyred I am listening to a podcast called 'Seek travel ride' a 2023 interview with Helen Dainty who is a full time cycle tourer and has been for nearly 16 odd years. She has her own youtube channel called 'Hels on wheels' a remarkable woman and has everything she owns on her bike. In my head it is infinitely appealing but in reality, not sure I could do it.

In my head, that's what I was doing whenever I went long distance walking or cycle touring. The idea of being a hobo with the freedom of having my world in the rucksack or panniers appealed, but it usually ended after about a month. Mostly it was running out of energy that had me heading for home, but the first time it was a house insurance policy that didn't cover absences of more than a month, and on the last tour I had to get back because I'd been passing blood on the toilet since the day after I left home.

Nice little stroll into town along the path alongside the River Wey followed by a small breakfast and a couple of coffees. Also managed to secure the tickets to the two main gigs I wanted (2nd choice venue for one of them) and will sort out the hotels when I get home.

Now waiting for the train to Waterloo.

Back from our trip to sunny Hunny

It was just getting busy as we come away.

Doorbell rang whilst making a coffee this morning. A delivery man with a parcel. Ah the new ebike controller etc. Signed for it and then picked it up. It was heavy. Looks at the address label, not mine. Its these sunglasses he said Correct package obtained.
Found the mits fitted fine at lunchtime.
Post WAH the ebike quickly de-vinyled. Having been in the bike shed in the mid 30s they didn't need much heating to release. Now blue polish drying.
