A lovely day here but I've done very little. Just unwinding after my holiday.

As I was going to remote islands, I had played it safe and withdrew plenty of Sterling cash from my bank before I left to hopefully cover all eventualities. I also seem to get charged a fee to use my card in UK ATM machines ever since Brexit.

I did end up withdrawing more money in Inverness and had been scratching my head all the time about what I had spent it on. Mystery solved, as there's £200 sitting on top of my dressing table that I somehow must have forgotten to take with me!

So, an unexpected windfall...

Every now and again I would like a Porsche outside my home, but life has not cast me in that role. Nissan Murano will do.

There's a Porsche outside my house at the moment, thankfully I don't own it.

We see a lot of them locally for obvious reasons: one acquaintance in the village is a test driver for the company.

Went to bed, then remembered I hadn't printed the consent forms for my wife to sign, so we can prove Beautiful Daughter is allowed to come to the UK with me.

The evening's hot chocolate has just been had.

Spent an hour round mum's and then made the most of a cooling breeze coming off the North Sea on the way to do the shopping. Home for a coffee and snack before swapping to the panniered up ebike and off to John Lewis for the click & collect pick up which worked out just as I'd hoped being able to get a retail packed duvet in each pannier and the pillow bungeed to the rack - once I'd torn a hole in the packaging to let some air out.

Food has been prepared for tomorrow's outing and all I need to do in the morning is to put everything into a small cool bag with a frozen gel block, make a flask of coffee and a bottle of orange squash and then head off to south Norfolk.

The lads from the local fire department came out in the rain and straightened the Maypole which had been leaning since a recent storm.

Good morning from a warm & sunny Suffolk. Coffee has been had and a small bowl of porridge is about to be nuked for breakfast before I head out across the border to Norfolk for the day.

Rather than spend the day at risk of turning a rather unfetching shade of bright red (even with factor 50), I'm going to forego the shorts & t-shirt for a lightweight pair of trousers and the lightest long sleeved shirt I've got and just put a good layer of sunblock on my face & neck and top everything off with a wide brimmed hat.
