At son no. 2's en route home. We've had dinner out (again) and I'm now working on his garden/jungle with this view:

The road outside, which in reality is a track to the barn that's out of shot to my left, has been really busy in the two hours I was weed clearing.

Four sheep wandered past and stared at me through the gate.

They were probably admiring the house sign that's now on the gate so parcels might reach the correct place. Or wondering whether they could eat it

They could probably get the taste of grass being cut, and were working out a way in.

The 'lawn' bit was done a week ago. We're now working on years of un-restrained ground elder, mint and nettle growth. Oh, and giant Dandelions. It's a lot of work but, if we do it now, there should be a nice garden underneath it all. The garden once had some nice plants and bushes and it's a case of letting them have their space back.

I did offer the sheep some of the giant mint plants I'd pulled up but they weren't interested.

They'll be back when you're not watching. You'll see...

A very motorsport heavy day keeping my anorak very occupied.

Starting off with a

day at Snetterton enjoying the sights, sounds and some good racing, then home and caught up with the first two of three F1 academy races, then the Canadian GP (no spoilers, but that really is worth watching if you have an interest) and now the Indy 500. That just leaves the Formula 2 recordings and then British GTs from Oulton Park on Monday for future consumption.

In other mundanity, the recycling bin has been moved to the front of the house for emptying on Monday morning (no change for the public holiday). There's not much in there as it was done a couple of weeks ago, but this is the last one where paper & card can go with the plastics and metals before the new system starts in June and I'm not going to re-sort what's in there.

I've had a weekend of not a lot of sleep (just too warm) and overdosing on motorsport and sumo.

Did think about going to Snetterton, but decided I did not fancy getting roasted and watched the very excellent action from the comfort of the Armchair Grandstand. That third BTCC race was superb, and the Minis were brilliant too.

Currently watching MOTD.
