A lovely way to spend the bank holiday. Two and a half hot and sticky hours on the bike enjoying the mostly traffic free countryside, a cooling shower and then an hour and a half sat in the shade in the garden with a book, a couple of podcasts, coffee and orange squash.

I think I'm going to round it off by seeing if the local takeaway is open and, if they are, stuffing my face with unhealthy food.

A sunny and scorchio day here chez Casa Reynard.

Sleep wasn't good, so gave up. Downtairs, fed the cat (who has decided to sleep in a pile of jumpers waiting to go to the charity shop), made a :cuppa: and took it back upstairs to do some writing. Got a decent chunk done, and have almost rounded out this chapter. Had some fun with Ladies Who Lunch.

Downstairs at a better hour to do the basic chores - it was already too hot to do much more. I did water all the planters - the flowers and lettuces I bought on sticker are doing really well, as are the tomato plants bought from the little garden centre in town.

Had a lovely luncheon of avocado on toast, an orange and a :cuppa:

Spent a chunk of the afternoon sitting in the shade reading a little book from 1956 on building model cars that I picked up in the book exchange in Pymoor the other day. I decided not to go yellow stickering in Tesco as it was just too hot, and there was nothing super urgent on the list after I picked up a few bits on Friday. It can wait till Wednesday.

Once it hit 5pm, I dusted off Wiggy #2, the Chartres, popped a tenner in my bar bag and went for a bicycular bimble to Littleport. I popped into the Co-op to see if there was anything of interest on sticker, but there wasn't. Also had a poke around a garage sale on the way home, but again, nothing of interest. But it didn't matter - it got me a nice 8 mile ride.

Am enjoying a nice cold ribena while watching Deadliest Catch.

found a moth infestation in one small closet

emptied, cleaned, pulled carpet, incl. the nail strips & painted the floor, 2 coats. the choices of color were limited to what we had on hand, so I went w/black. Wifey came home & I scored points so she made me a sandwich
empty clean painted closet.jpg

she saw the bagged up contents & went to get plastic storage boxes for anything we're gonna keep

It seems that I have left the UK and am now in Canada, Kamloops to be precise. ^_^

Shortly I will be watching "Brokenwood Mysteries" in New Zealand.

Can anyone recommend some Ginger pastilles/sweets/chewy candy, or even Ginger "shots"? I take some strong medication often this causes mild nausea. I have tried Fevertree's ginger, and it has helped a lot.

Chamomile tea with some ground ginger in it. Add honey and lemon to taste.

I guess good old candied ginger from the baking aisle or a health food shop (not the stuff in syrup) might do the trick.
