Not going to say anything to family, but Lancashire next week looks very wet.So I am putting my open weave Karrimor walking shoes back in the cupboard and getting my everyday Doc's out. They can cope better with wet rain.Lord knows what piggin Fleetwood will look like in a downpour,it's going to be interesting the next few days, because f i l cannot walk very far at all.

I didn't sleep very last night and feel tired today as a result. I think it's too hot. Maybe I should go back to the Hebrides!

I started a little carpentry project today, and then discovered I had evidence of of woodworm in the wood I was working on, so haven't gone any further with that at the moment. I think it will be okay if I get something to treat it.

I did some writing on my blog and I also tweaked a poem I had written while in Stornoway waiting for the ferry, and have entered it to a competition, along with two older ones that I revisited.

I think I will soon have an early night.

Bank holiday Monday tomorrow so have a day off work :wahhey: Usual bank holiday weather forecast, but I hope to get a few miles in.

A very relaxed afternoon was had post grass cutting. Out for about 90 minutes for a gentle bike ride followed by another 90 minutes reading & listening to the radio in the shade in the deck chair starting with an ice cream, finishing with a coffee.

The evening's hot chocolate has just been had and the non-recycling bin has not been moved to the front of the house as the council has changed collection days to Thursday as part of the new 3 bin system. It should be a 4 bin system, but they've still not delivered the food waste caddy (no great loss as I don't have waste food).

It's been a mostly sunny and warmer than expected day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit with a marked westerly breeze.

Sleep was OK, but struggling with lady issues. So up way earlier than usual. So downstairs, cat fed and a :cuppa: made to take upstairs and do some writing. Did think about the Arsenal parade the other day, but just not felt up to it.

Writing done, scudded through the chores, and then went to do a tip run. Big mistake, as it took me an hour to get into the bloody place. it was heaving! Now I know *why* I prefer to go at about 5pm on a weekday. Anyways, the last of the moth-eaten fur coats have been disposed of, as have a load of ancient preserves that I'm never going to use. There's still another load of those - not, might I add, made by me.

Stopped off in town on the way home to pick up cat litter from B&M, but they were out of stock on the one I buy. I still have two bags, but this is the point at which I like to restock. However, I did score a Regatta rain jacket in Sue Ryder for £8 - it's purple, so not a colour I'd have chosen, but at £40 less than the equivalent in Sports Direct and Mountain Warehouse, I'm not going to complain.

Home for a bacon sandwich luncheon and watching the livestream of the Arsenal parade from the comfort of the Armchair Grandstand. I grew up in the area, so familiar streets.

Haven't done very much of anything else today.

Supper was a cheese & onion toastie, triple-cooked chips and a salad.

Just watched the TT highlights.

My daughter is heading down to London for the parade (or whatever it's called) today ⚽

They totally changed the parade from what they usually do - which is bus from the Emirates to the Town Hall on Upper Street, a civic reception with the Mayor, and then bus back to the stadium.

I always used to go, and tended to hang out in front of the town hall.
