Got the mainly dried washing in yesterday just before it rained. Then the sun came back out. More shrubbery trimming.
Wet overnight and morning then it turned sunny and the forecast predicted so it would stay.

The weeks work visits promptly done which did require a visit to the office. Whilst there nipped for a no.1 and heard someone trying the door. On trying to exit it was locked. Four kicks of the door resulted in one apologetic cleaner opening it.

Then found an office largely full of people I did not know wanting to know what happened. Pointed out it showed that if you got locked in a loo people would hear you.

It's been a day of steady rain, then sun and biblical grade showers today chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. Woke up too early though, so turned over and went back to sleep. And promptly overslept. Whoops! A very anxious cat was wondering where her breakfast was. So downstairs, feed the cat, make a :cuppa: and take it back upstairs to do some writing.

Cleared the chores, including the ones I didn't do yesterday. And then, as it'd stopped raining for a bit, went out to do a bit of weeding in order to finish filling up the green bin. My timing was impeccable, as it just started raining again as I was packing up. I hate weeding out cleaves btw, as they give me hives, so it's a long sleeve and rubber gloves job.

A lovely luncheon of a cheese & salad roll, greek yoghurt with a banana and some raspberries, and a pot of tea.

The afternoon's task was taking the plunge and fixing my oven with the parts that arrived about a week and a half back. Of course, I had to dismantle the whole inside to get to the element. That was fun. Some GT85 and swear words were needed to get the screws to undo. But managed to get everything undone. Old element was taken out, new one was fitted, and then the entire process with all the bits was done in reverse.

I now have a working oven again! Waheyyy, go me! :girldance:

The old element had split on one side and melted on the other. Mind you, it'd lasted about twelve years, so I really can't complain.

I tidied up, cleaned the oven, tested it, and am now finishing my celebratory :cuppa:

Last tasks for today is to put the green bin and food caddy out for collection in the morning, and throw some supper together. The little kitchen food caddy is only half full, as I waste very little. It's mainly things like tea leaves, egg shells and peelings, plus the odd scrapings from Madam Boo's food bowl.

Might as well put it out, though. And I shall do that now.

:hello: From Manchester where I've had to ask for a room change due to the original one being at the bottom of a light well with a continuous noise from an intake fan. Top marks to the girls on reception who did the the change without argument and the new one is much quieter and has a view.

Food & drink were had in town earlier, so it's now off to the Albert Hall for some decent music and more drinks.

I started Spotify on the weekend and found my wife had been listening to her choir music on my account.
I don't share her interest in church, but it might be worth attending if she sings this.

I was wondering what would you do if you were caught out cycling when a massive hail storm sprang up? There were 2 last week which I knew about. The first one hit us and came out of the blue, stones just over 1/4 inch but they came down in all directions so you couldn't shelter behind anything. The second storm happened 8 miles away but this time the stones were golf balls sized! Cars and patios were damaged so not very nice if you were just wearing lycra.
I got under what cover was available, which wasn't much, when on holiday with 25+ miles to go.
Coming home from work, there was no shelter, so it was a case of getting of the hilltop as quick as was safely possible. All the while with it bouncing of the helmet(full face).
