It's been a cool day with quite a bit of the wet stuff falling from the sky.

Did not sleep well. Woke up to no hot water. Tepid was as good as it got. Looks like the element in the tank has gone *fzzzzt* Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it back upstairs to do some writing and googling.

Yes, I could probably fix the water heater myself, but there are too many things that can go wrong, and so it's better to get someone in who knows what they are doing. Alas, the plumber that I've used for many a year is now long retired, so I'm trying one that a friend has recommended to me. I sent them a message mid morning, but they have yet to get back to me. Grrrrr!

Lovely luncheon of a luncheon meat & cheese sandwich, a banana, a flapjack and a pot of tea.

Spent the afternoon clearing out the airing cupboard where the hot water tank lives. So everything is now accessible for when I can get a plumber in. Also discovered that the auxiliary immersion heater also doesn't work. never noticed it till now, as I've never needed it.

Lazy supper of a big plate of chips and a mug of hot ribena.

Now watching the football.

I'm waiting for the BRSCC to put the entry lists up for a meeting at Silverstone this weekend. If the entries are half decent as I suspect and the weather holds up I'm off there on Saturday.

I know it's also Le Mans, but the "Pocket Rocket Showdown" looks like being fun - various races for little buzzboxes featuring City Cars (Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1/Peugeot 107s), 3 x Minis (Miglias, Se7ens and Classic), MG Metros, Citroen 2CVs and then Formula Fords which are probably the largest things on the track!

Do you know if they're streaming that? Looks like good entertainment!
