Itching to get back on my bike's
Location

First cuppa went down well as did my meeting with the shower

I have just found a Suffolk Cycling map, it also shows part of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk. I thought this area here looked good for cycling. I haven't seen that many riders, I saw a group of 7 yesterday and a small group on Sunday.
I was just thinking that the people in Woodbridge have the same problem as me living in a river valley and having a climb out before reaching a plateau. My area once I've reached the plateau I seem to find more hills.

Good morning from a grey, chilly and so far at least dry Suffolk. A larger than normal coffee has been had simply to use up the last of a pack.

Traffic jam of bin lorries round this way this morning by the look of it - neighbours have put out blue lid bins (cans, plastics, glass), green garden waste bins and (where received & used) food caddies. Nothing in my blue lid bin that can't wait another 3 weeks to be emptied and I've not got either of the other two.

I think today will be domestics day once I've tried to get tickets that go on sale at 10:00.

It is a good cycling area for me - I don't like hills.

If you think Woodbridge is bad, try Hadleigh. Hadleigh in the hole the locals call it, well at least they used to.

Been raining steadily here since before 11am. At least the main domestics have been done and the kitchen floor is about dry enough to retrieve the washing from the machine and put it on the clothes horse to dry.

The gig ticket was successfully purchased, just the hotel to sort out this evening. I've also spent the coffee break on completion of the domestics working on logistics for something in York I fancy attending. I'm in Newcastle the next day and effectively only need to pay for a hotel room in York, the difference in train ticket prices covering the gig ticket cost.

Nearly 3 inches of rain in the last 12 hours.

Thankfully nowhere near that here, although we haven't had any flooding since our new neighbour put in drains.

I was about to take the dog out on her walk this morning, resigned to getting soaked, when I remembered I had some waterproof trousers. Took a bit of finding but made a big difference.

We've lit the log burner.

It's been a cool day with quite a bit of the wet stuff falling from the sky.

Did not sleep well. Woke up to no hot water. Tepid was as good as it got. Looks like the element in the tank has gone *fzzzzt* Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it back upstairs to do some writing and googling.

Yes, I could probably fix the water heater myself, but there are too many things that can go wrong, and so it's better to get someone in who knows what they are doing. Alas, the plumber that I've used for many a year is now long retired, so I'm trying one that a friend has recommended to me. I sent them a message mid morning, but they have yet to get back to me. Grrrrr!

Lovely luncheon of a luncheon meat & cheese sandwich, a banana, a flapjack and a pot of tea.

Spent the afternoon clearing out the airing cupboard where the hot water tank lives. So everything is now accessible for when I can get a plumber in. Also discovered that the auxiliary immersion heater also doesn't work. never noticed it till now, as I've never needed it.

Lazy supper of a big plate of chips and a mug of hot ribena.

Now watching the football.

I've learnt enough to know that fiddling with stuff I only know 'in principle' can be expensive.
