More emulsioning today, 3/4 done now. The weather has been so wet today, I think it is fair to say that I hav`nt been missing much. Certainly not a day for a casual ride but a good day for ducks ! Having said that, lunchtime we watched the blackbird have his usual bath at the usual time in the large plant saucer. It is not as if he could dry off afterwards.

Like @Shearwater Missile I'm decorating. First and second coats of paint on the walls. Light chocolate (Dulux's 'Malt Chocolate') on two walls and an expensive pink-ish paint (Farrow & Ball's 'Cinder Rose') on the other two. The irony is that the Malt Chocolate was previously on three of the walls, just not on one that SWMBO wanted it on

And my rear garden's currently full of Collared Doves, generally strutting around like they own the place and making a nuisance of themselves.

It is a good cycling area for me - I don't like hills.

Prefer lumpy, with any luck you can freewheel for a good proportion of the ride whereas flatter terrain equals near constant pedalling

Always happy having gone east into the Vale of York to see the road going up when heading back west as there will be a down grade following soon.

I was watching "Green Signals" this afternoon. The quiz question was "which mainline train journey involves travelling on the "up" line, then the "down" line, and then repeat this, without reversing. on a journey of less than ten miles?".

I immediately thought of Georgemas Junction to Wick and then back to Georgemas Junction, then to Thurso, and repeat. How can I find a timetable on line? If it is single track, does it count as up and down rather than changing track?

Yes, I have done that journey.

I am using Crown`s teal, matt. Only needs one coat although it is not a one coat paint but it covers so well. The last time I decorated I bought some trade paint in white, it was rubbish. Two coats and you could still see under it, never again.

Managed to stay dry on cycling commutes to and from the office.

Had lunch with some of my pals in a rather nice London club. This is an annual event and doubled as a committee meeting, which was quite successful. We actually made some decisions - very rare. Hopefully one of us was sober enough to write up some minutes.

It is a good cycling area for me - I don't like hills.

It is nice. Where we are staying at Sutton Hoo the roads are nice and smooth with nice views. They might be a bit of a pain if you are riding into a headwind as there wouldn't be much shelter. Lots of pigs and potatoes growing here.

It has been raining here for most of the day. In the morning I rested but we went to visit RAF Bawdsey radar station this afternoon. It was very interesting. We then went to Bawdsey to look at the boats. There wasn't much else to see as it was raining and the wind was blowing quite hard.
We set off for home tomorrow. We plan to visit the De haviland heritage museum on the way home.
