Can somebody tell me where I can buy the " new" history books from as I have yet to see them on the shelves of the bookshops ? I read yesterday that the SS Great Britain is to be renamed. Anyway, at least I can now recycle my old history books in my new blue bin. Progress ?

My understanding is that the museum is being renamed, not the actual vessel.
I could be wrong, though 🤷‍♂️

Ebike repaired - The new controller was apparently able to done by pulling the connector out without dropping the motor. The flip I could have done that thought was somewhat extinguished when they explained the controller cable had chaffed on the inside of the downtube so that have wrapped all the cables etc together well into the downtube. Also said the front brake hydraulic hose was unduly bent and they had replaced it.
Whilst it was being repaired another hour spent sorting the loft out. More accumulation of items for recycling.
An outing on the road bike was less successful. First of all I forgot to de-crosschain and the chain fell off the cassestte.
Second attempt made it just into country park where the saddle bag fell off inconviently lodging betwewen a rear fork and the wheel - result in me landing on the relatively well compacted gravel path. Trudged back home for two plasters and arnica.
Now to put the ebikes pannier mounts etc back on

That took a hour. The Ortlieb QL pannier mounts are bit fiddly and my bodged Kypnoite lock mount using a large hose clip instead of the fabric strap took some fiddling before the hose clip would tighten. Found a new 3M sticky pad for the varia mount to restick to the rear of the battery having first wiped the relevant parts with meths
Maybe it was a good job the road bike outing was not a access as the tracking of the brief ride from the Garmin 530 was appalling and has been deleted as any relationship was purely accidental its seems

It is both I am afraid and also the dropping of IK Brunel. I could cry quite honestly.
Actually, I think that I may have to rebrand as well, perhaps drop the Missile from my user name. I may have to drop the Shearwater as well as I don`t want to upset any seabirds. I think I`ll just be " Formally Known As", that should do the trick !

That`s what happens when you confuse minutes with hours !

According to an article I looked at :

Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s world famous ship and the museum spaces around it will become Bristol Dockyards from July.

SS Great Britain Trust chief executive, Andrew Edwards, said that some people might view the rebranding as “woke” but he added that “change is never easy”.
And remember, it is not the ship that is changing name but its location next to the Floating Harbour. Bristol Dockyards will still be described as “home to the SS Great Britain”.

Blistering Barnacles.. Just leave stuff alone!!

Decisions made. Whilst cycling is good for an arhritic knee anything beyond spinning uphill is not. That would seriously limit where I cycle on a non ebike. Contacted a local cycling "resurrection" to see if they will take now little used 12 year old hybrid
It didn't cost much so giving it away will be no great lost as I have my monies worth out of it.
That will then make space for an e road bike whilst I ponder what to with the existing one.

Hybrid stripped of reusable accessories; ZEFAL Swan and Croozer Mudguards, 2 bottle cages, saddle bag mount, an unused Wahoo/Garmin universal mount and and a seemingly no longer available Rixen & Kaul Klickfix Go Pro camera mount stud. Possibly in value close to what I would get trying to sell it.
