Itching to get back on my bike's

Time for an evening brew but first I need to water the veg and fruit plants

A mostly overcast but pleasantly warm day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept seven hours, but it was restless, so woke up feeling bleurgh. Downstairs, made a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. Totally forgot to feed the cat. Whoops! Anyways, did a good chunk this morning, working a more recent plot bunny into the current chapter - which had been planned some time back..

Downstairs at a better hour to do the chores. And feed the cat. Also potted on some plants that needed dealing with. That included my last tomato plant - a yellow tumbling tom. I actually have a few tomatoes the size of peas on my plants.

Had a lovely luncheon of the last of the melton mowbray pork pie, toast with marmalade, a pear and a small pot of tea.

Watched some of the racing from Royal Ascot, then spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening gardening. Weeded and strimmed and the place looks a lot tidier.

Supper was driven by what wanted using up - including a rather ancient pouch of stir fry sauce that I discovered while looking in the cupboard for something else. So had an omelette filled with stir fried radish & salad leaves, plus szechuan noodles with vegetables (a dollop of ratatouille).

So have used up the pouch of szechuan stir fry sauce, the last two eggs, and some rather tired salad leaves and radishes. There are still some noodles left, and I will have those on toast for luncheon.

Now watching France v Senegal.

At long last a mostly sunny and warm day with light winds.
Two hours 45 minutes to cycle to Beccles and 2 hours to get home by train with an hour and a half's rest and rehydration at The King's Head inbetween.
Since I got home, very little has been done apart from to stuff my face with more food than was strictly necessary.

And I'm planning on doing something similar on Thursday with a ride to Norwich & train home - the ticket and bike reservation have been booked and need to be collected from the machine at my local station on Wednesday.

Time for the evening's hot chocolate.

The every 10 mins is so it an practical option given the train is faster but Leeds train station to the south of the city centre so by bus can be quicker to the centre or places on its north side.
Just copied @Jenkins and got a free Greggs coffee via Octopus. Theres one at the bus station with stacks of seats outside.
Free coffee for me during the short wait between trains at Ipswich station
I wonder if anyone actually pays for a hot drink at Greggs with all the freebies that are given away - as well as all the weekly ones at Octopus, I also get one free per month from Confused and there must be others available.

A warm but somewhat overcast and humid day here. One of the local petrol stations has a hardware section and opens at 6am, so I was able to buy a replacement light switch on my perambulation before work. All sorted now. Let there be light!

I cycled my usual 20 mile route after work and got caught up in traffic restrictions due to a 5km funeral run thing. The concept of a fun run does not compute with me! Running can never be fun for me.

The cost of petrol must be having an effect as boy racers are conspicuous by their absence recently, even though it's the run up to a major rally on the area at the weekend. They are usually out in force.

Tomorrow is my last day at work until Tuesday as I have a few days booked off.
