Can you please explain what they are saying and what is"churn" ? The only ones I know about contain milk!

Churn, usually means customers that move. Those that follow the best deals at that moment.
Happens with mobile phone providers, internet providers, insurance companies.
Naughty people who allow their partners to take advantage of "new customer only" special offers.
There are several mathematical models to define and measure this.
Objective is to reduce the rate at which people move from supplier to supplier.
This is to reduce the cost of acquiring new customers whilst keeping those you have got .
Generally the company has failed to realise that the customer notices when you raise the renewal price hugely and dream the customer won't notice

Probably quicker than waiting for the one at Starbeck on the A59 between Harrogate and Knaresborough. The barriers have go down way before a Knaresborough train arrives at the station just in case it suffers brake failure.

Another quiet day in prospect - all that needs to be done today is to load the overnight bag in advance of Wednesday's away day and then to go food shopping for some travel snacks.

UK maximum is apparently 775 metres which is around half a mile (36 container wagons plus locomotive) which can take a while when they're crawling over the local level crossing to time in with other freight/passenger services before joining the single track section on the local line here.

In The States, trains are restricted by length of sidings, usually shortest siding on the route, so some trains on transcontinental routes like this one can be 3 miles long, with radio controlled locomotives in the middle or at the end so couplers don't break.

Apart from possibly a short walk before teatime, that's me done for the day. Shopping has been done, bike has been ridden, I've showered and shaved and the overnight bag has been sorted with just the travel snacks and drink to be added in the morning.

Sunshine has not been seen today and it's not warm enough to sit outside, so I'm spending the afternoon on the sofa with a mixture of the radio, book, Chromebook and a pint of cold orange squash for company. A snooze will not be resisted if I feel the need.
