Flipping computers. A programme suddenly started coming with weird error messages concerning fonts. Fiddled around without any success and decided to look for a new version. Turns out you cannot buy outright but subscribe for a year. Found a freeware alternative which does much of the same.

46 miles this morning - remembered to take two bottles - blooming suffered last time I took one bottle for a 40 mile gravel ride. One with water, the other carb powder mix. Felt good all the way round, including the climb home. Kit washed, and we've just popped to the local pub for a pint.

The locals of Cheshire need to pay more council tax, my gosh the roads have got worse. Really dodgy when riding under trees and the dappled sunlight - you just can't see the imperfections - some of my route covered the same roads as my gravel route - same bike, different wheels tyres. You really feel it on 28c, not quite the same on 38c knobblies.

Might take the old 653 Ribble out tomorrow on 25c - it's like a magic carpet on crap surfaces.

As expected, we ate there as the owner is Malaysian and his wife from Hong Kong - the food is incredible. Not expensive. Just had two starters and a main as we weren't that hungry. Fabulous. We can't go in without ordering something to eat.

A warm and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, but one that got increasingly cloudy.

Slept well enough in spite of the monthly clog dancing on my midriff. Downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. Novel was the choice this morning..

Did the chores at a better hour, did all the prep for supper, loaded the crock pot then settled down to the horse racing on the telly.

A lovely luncheon of a bacon sandwich, two tangerines and a small pot of tea.

Once the horse racing was done and dusted, I did mean to go out and cut some grass, but took one look, thought "oh sod it" and went out for a nice bicycular bimble. My route took me out to the Hundred Foot, then home via Oxlode and Pymoor.

Now having a quiet evening listening to the cricket on the radio whilst supping on a :cuppa:

Will need to sort the rice cooker out in a little while.

So there is a Solar Eclipse on Wednesday. They kept that quiet! We only heard about it this morning.

Bit of a disappointing day out - there was some good racing, but way too many safety cars and red flags disrupting the short 15 minute races. It also reminded me why I hate the bit of the M25/A282 that I have to negotiate to get there.
Despite all that, it was nice to have a day out in the sunshine and to do absolutely nothing.
