Five mins and i am out visiting George up the street,i am going to see if he fancies me dropping in two nights during winter,as he lives by himself and has nobody his age to visit him,we get along really well.

It's been a warm, breezy and mostly sunny day here chez Casa Reynard.
Did not sleep well. Dozed off while cat cuddling. Woke up an hour later to no cat and cold feet. Went to bed, but brain wouldn't switch off thanks to some potentially useful plot bunnies hopping around in my head. So eventually, I gave in, got up and wrote them down so that I wouldn't forget them. Problem with that, was it was already very, very late, and then it's difficult to fall asleep. And then I woke too early as well. Ah well, hey ho. Anyways, downstairs, fed a hungry cat, cleaned up some cat sick, made myself a
and took it upstairs to do some writing.
Did the chores at a better hour. Puttered about with a few small tasks, and then washed and halved about two kilos of cherry tomatoes and dumped them into the crock pot with onion, garlic, olive oil and herbs from the garden. That'll make me several nice jars of marinara sauce for pasta etc.
Had a lovely luncheon of a cheese & coleslaw sandwich, stewed plums with greek yoghurt, and a small pot of tea.
Did some more writing and provided a friendly ear to a friend whose mother has dementia, then took the loppers and headed out into the garden to cut back some stuff that needs cutting back. Chainsaw needed to finish the job off, and I'll have some dry firewood to boot. And I can now get to the two trees that got skittled earlier in the year to finish cutting them up. They'll keep me in firewood for the entire winter, I think.
I'd promised my friend Linda some bread pudding as it's one of her favourite little sweet indulgences, so went out to drop that off at hers. Swung by the community orchard first, and picked some Thoday's Quarrenden and Perfection apples. Might have eaten a few apples while I was at it. Dropped off the bread pudding and half the apples at Linda's.

Got a bit peckish, so I've just had the last white chocolate Magnum lookalike from the pack. Next up will be the usual hot chocolate to round off quite a good day.
The advance tickets for a trip to Leeds at the end of November finally went on sale just after 10:00 - no bus replacement for the outbound Sunday leg and cheaper than expected. Decided to do the ride/drinks/train outing as I'm mostly home on Friday and can do the new toy then. The ride to Stowmarket was very enjoyable despite there being more headwind than expected and fairly lumpy for Suffolk (50ft/mile of upwardlyness). Two most welcome cold pints and then the train home followed by fish fingers, scrambled eggs & beans for tea.
The evening has been mostly spent slumped in my chair with the football on in the background as a distraction for my ears.

That railcar is a Budd RDC, or Rail Diesel Car. NOT the favorite rail conveyance of Mrs. GA. She has, through my travels with her, experienced far more rail travel than the average person. For a tiny, small woman, she has a very low voice. When the RDC car showed up at some museum outing, she said "Oh, charming" and I knew that it wasn't going to go well. She loves the trains at our local (well 40 miles away) train museum, and the ride is not so long. And there are many shops in the town attractive to ladyfolk.

I mis-read that first part, and it had me really wondering about your "home-made" pizza.The marinara sauce on it was made with home grown tomatoes, too!
