It's been a warm, humid and occasionally sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, after some very obvious overnight rain.
Sleep was so-so. Still struggling with a tight chest and tiredness after that attack of the lurgies. I had a quiet day yesterday as I really wasn't feeling it. Anyways, downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a

and took it upstairs to do some writing.
Chores done at a better hour. A bit slow going, but hey ho. Made some compote with a punnet of rather sad-looking cherries. Picked about two kilos of cherry tomatoes. The rain's gotten into them, so a lot of them have split. No matter, they will be diverted to a big batch of pasta sauce. Washed the airtight containers for cat biscuits, as I need to open a new bag tomorrow.
Had a lovely if slightly late luncheon of a ham, cheese & coleslaw sandwich, greek yoghurt with cherry compote, some really lovely strawberries and a small pot of tea.
Spent much of the afternoon in the garden filling up the green bin, as it's green bin day tomorrow. The best way to do that was trim some rosa rugosas that had gotten a bit out of control. Bin stuffed to bursting. Note to self, do not trim spiky stuff with rigger gloves that have worn patches and holes in the leather. Spikes went straight through the dodgy bits, and then had to spent a while digging the little bits out of my finger tips. Owie.
Popped off to my friend Linda with the beetroot she'd requested.
Came home, and did a load of laundry.
A relaxing evening has been had catching up on Antiques Roadtrip and the sumo.
After yesterday's naughty but extremely tasty evening meal of a batch of onion rings made with the giant onion that I found while hunting for beetroot, I had a much more sensible supper of pasta with tomatoes, garlic, basil and mozzarella.
All that's left to do is wash up.
