The evening's hot chocolate is about to be made. I must have a look to see which bin I'm not putting out this evening as none of them need emptying.

Dad visited and caught up with, but not mum & stepfather as they were out. Having spent 3 days on trains and walking everywhere it took a while to get my bike legs back, but the shopping (as little as there was to get) was a good excuse for over 35 miles of mostly countryside in sunshine and warmth.

Other than getting the washing in, folded & put away absolutely nothing else has been done today.

It's been a warm and blustery day here chez Casa Reynard, starting sunny, but the cloud creeping in from lunchtime.

Slept well enough. Downstairs, fed the cat, made myself a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. A short session today, as I met up with my friend Linda for a nice walk around the village playing fields with her dogs. We had a lovely time, and put the world to rights. Stopped off at the orchard on the way home, and picked some Chivers Delight and Cottenham Seedling apples. Sat on a bench in the sun and ate two apples. Also swung by the book exchange and picked up a couple of interesting tomes to poke through.

A lovely luncheon of homemade cheesy garlic bread, fruit and a small pot of tea.

After, spent a bit of time digging out some bits to get on with my entry for the village scarecrow competition. So far, I have amassed some old nylon sheets, a washing up bowl, some large plastic bags, a collapsible stool and a broken bicycle pump.

Watered all the planters, then went off to do lumberjilling. Only one large wheelbarrow of logs today, plus a wheelbarrow of smaller wood / kindling, as one of the broken willow branches was just too rotten to turn into logs. So it's been cut up and dumped in the woodland for the insects etc to have fun with it.

A quiet evening has been had, mainly catching up on the track cycling from China.

And a naughty supper of banana and chocolate chip pancakes :hungry:

The Co-Op do a nice tasting pack of chocolate-covered custard creams - https://shop.coop.co.uk/product/co-...-chocolate-custard-creams-162g--5000129406375 They're £2.50 a pack though.

Tesco has them too. I've avoided buying them.

So far...
