muscle ache 2 days in

went for a 55mile cycle on sunday, some hills involved, but it is now tuesday and my legs are still aching, is this normal? if so how can i get rid of the ache?
not done a 55 miler before, so wondering if the ache was dueto a new milage record for me?

Yes it would be normal if your not used to covering that mileage, DOMS for me got worse after the mid twenties but only normally happens after weight training these days or extreme exertion.

i too get it like that but have found taking recovery gunk and strecthing after a ride helped but the most effective thing to do is limp and grunt for a few days :blush:

Yep, sounds normal!

You're legs will get used to the extra effort as your mileage capability grows.
Grab a milkshake/choco milk at the end of a long ride and do a few gentle stretches.
