I,ve never used clips or cleats or whatever!, would it be worth the expense of changing them and buying new shoes etc?

I'd say so. If you go for SPD pedals there are quite a few cheap opetions available. Basic shoes can start at around £19.99 in the sale;

You can get various pedals either dual use;

or just clipless;

You could possibly get second hand cheaper off ebay. If you managed to get sale items from the above links you could probably do it for less than £50 and would never look back.

Bike plus tend to do quite good deals & shoes & pedals bought together. I got a pair of Spesh Sonoma & clipless pedals for about £50 last year.

Got a great pair of diadora shoes and shimano double sided pedals(best of both worlds!) tried them out, and finished up having to get home and unlace the right shoe leaving it stuck on the pedal! How many people have done that first time out! have adjusted them now and theyre great, cheers Plax, good deal from CRC.

Must admit i did that too :becool: Put a pair of VP bio cleats on my road bike & did the same thing, but i never did get on with those pedals. The shimano double sided spds have been great & in nearly 2 years not had a clipless moment yet
