It really is. I'd be keeping it for myself if:

A: would ever be seen dead riding a bike with Shi**no components.
B: I didn't already have a very fancy indeed Spa Cycles Wayfarer. 😅

The Shimano LX M570 groupset ran from 1999 to 2004. As far as I can establish this is a 2002 model. I'll update if I find out more.

It looks very similar to this from my 2000 Dawes catalogue, but I don't know how long it was sold in that form:

Just a little extra.the bike was checked over by the guys brother in law,who came from Tadcaster i think,to see how good it was.He paid me in cash.So a short while later,the now owner sent me an e-mail.You have caused me a problem,i was going to use this bike as a hack bike,just to go to work on,but it is so good i am not using it for that now,so i am still looking for a hack bike.
