Thanks to all of you for your help, advice and encouragement, I completed my first 100 Km on Saturday morning and I am well chuffed.:hyper:
It almost ended prematurely though. About half way into it, I popped a jelly baby in my mouth. At that moment I saw my first fellow cyclist of the morning. I raised a hand & went to say "morning", but sucked the jelly baby down my throat . All that came out was a squeeky Donald duck sound & I started to choke:shy:. I coughed and spluttered until a purple jelly shot out and I could breathe again. Apart from that, it went better than expected with a 16mph average.
Next challenge is the coast to coast for the Dorset air ambulance and then I want to do 100 miles before August.

Awesome work and well done!!!

Thanks all.
Helston90 do it. You will enjoy it. Just watch out for those jelly babies.
Thanks MikeG. Fingers crossed, I might just do it.

Yes very well done on achieving that milestone.
I knocked off my first 100km a few weeks ago so appreciate the effort.
Onwards and upwards.

Thank Davos87. Well done on your 100km.
Are you planning on going for 100 miles any time soon?

Yes I am working my way slowly towards that goal. ^_^
The day I completed my 100km I hadn't sort of set out to do it. Got to about the 40 mile mark and was feeling reasonably ok so just kept pedalling. Suffered terrible cramp in my left leg the last 10 miles or so when going over a hilly bit but still chuffed to do it.

Good Luck.
As i got home, i realised i was 8 miles short of 60 miles. My wife said she saw me coming down the road and wondered what i was doing as i carried on going. I had to go around a couple of villages to get the extra miles.

Haha. Yes recognise that. I live in a North Yorkshire village and to get back home I have the choice of a 17% bank or go the easy way and a 15%. So when I go on a reasonably long ride always feel a slight trepidation that I have to tackle one of those obstacles.
