Still managed to do 10 miles today after all. Also got some proper cycling tops from sports direct which are so much nicer than a cotton tshirt! Quite amazed! Cheap too

Well done Matt!

I started my cycling doing a daily commute like yours along Aberdeen Beach front andI still remember the feeling of elation I got every time i took the tunnel through to the beach promenade and felt the ozone hit my lungs. Brilliant! Well done you!

That makes it two of you on here that have started commuting coming up to the roughest time on the roads. Congratulations on starting when it isn't as easy.

Hehe thanks  its an awesome time to be outside though. The colours, the sudden warm hours of crystal sunshine that feels like such a treat. It's not that hard really

Wait for those cold crisp mornings with the frost just dusting the grass, the sun rising, and a thin layer of mist sitting just above the ground. Them are the good days.
Well done. as many have said before it wont get easier youll just get faster! Lol.
That is a bit wrong really. It got a lot easier for me.
When I returned to cycling after 20 years I was 18.5 stone. There were hills I could NOT get up. As I got fitter and lost weight then I could make it up bigger and steeper hills, but I would be in the red big time. Now I can get up many hills faster and without destroying my legs. It is a LOT easier. I go a fair bit faster as well.
