We own a Tandem, and had a trailer for the kids. But I never knew my Grandparents did, and have just acquired some photos.

Here you have

- Tandem and Sidecar
- my mum or one of her siblings
- offroad touring in mid Wales (!!)

Photos are late 30s or early 40s.

Wonder if it had a flexible coupling to allow the tandem to lean to the left going round left hand corners? Must've been scary if it was rigid when turning left!

I'd love to have a go at building something like that but I don't have a wife or children so it'd be a little surplus to requirements!

I suspect, but don't know, that this sidecar was home made. My Grandad was a fitter in the South Wales mines, so probably had skills and access to workshops if needed.
