My lad managed to grow 10cm in 7 months, and in doing so outgrew the Triban 3 (48cm) he bought himself back at the end of May 2013.

So I took on the task to sort out a bike for Xmas for him to continue with his racing in 2014.

The result

Picked up a Felt F95 from Wiggle, added his saddle and cycle computer, then swapped out the 50T chainring for a 39T, and the cassette from a 11-25 to a 12-27 so that the bike falls within the gear restrictions for his age group (u14).

Finally a pair of Conti GP4000s tyres on the Planet X wheels that he bought with his Xmas money.

Looks stunning, and whilst the weather has prevented more than one trip to the local circuit over the festive period, he has been training hard on the turbo and rollers each day.

Very pleased with the result, as - most importantly, is he

That's a really cool bike (good old dad) and good on the young fella for racing, keeps him fit and active .

maybe you should put a smaller chainring on - that'll stop him dropping you!
Any U14 would be over the moon with such a bike - good work

Yep, he has a Triban 3 in absolutely immaculate condition, 48cm frame, 7 months old.

I had thought to advertise it through his club, but guess here is as good as anywhere.
