I thinks it is generally accepted that it is now safe to buy a BMW. The 'Cnuts of the Road' now drive Audis...
Wow, Reg taking Top Gear as an authority, who'd've guessed.

I had a 7 series once, a proper BMW. Unfortunately, I divorced my wealthy company director wife who paid fir all these trinkets, so I had to flog the Bimmer and my prized '71 Rover P6 V8 in order to pay my share if the divorce and gave some cash for a deposit on a place of my own.

Went from a 5 bed house and an E65 730dSE to a 2 bed stone cottage and my brothers cast off 405 Mi16.

Should've done it sooner because the new bird, the house and the car were all far more fun!

Eh? It's an observation from my experiences on the road. My experiences on the bikes have been reinforced by the experience of regularly driving on the A14, M1 and M6 over the last year.

If they're driving like cnuts then they'll be in an Audi or a 4x4 (or an Audi 4x4 - the ultimate knobmachine).
Ah the arrogance of youth...

That will be Gordon Ramsay then.
The biggest knob this morning sharing my space was a white van driver.

You shouldn't judge a book by its cover ;)

I've got a 2007 BMW 318iSE.

Best car I've ever driven, worst car I've ever owned:
Central locking replaced,
cam cover gasket,
sump gasket,
differential input bearing (and therefore the whole £875 differential - half price, wow I'm so lucky!),
front wheel bearing (and therefore the whole hub),
traction control valve,
ignition coils,
clutch delay valve,
clutch.

£4 grand of bills in 2 years. The ultimate driving machine? Ultimate cash cow more like!

A friends brother bought an RS4 a couple of years ago for £20k, he sold it last week for £10k and it cost him £4k in garage bills to keep it on the road. So much for Vorsprung durch Technik - what is that translated ? - My car won't start !

For the last month or so I've been driving a BMW. Nothing too flash - a diesel 3 series. It's quite a nice car.

In an attempt to confuse other road users in general and cyclists in particular, for the last few weeks I've been the politest, safest and generally all round nice driver you could ever wish to meet. Has anyone noticed?

Yes, it has been on the national news, just now.

In between here and there
Bought this 3 years ago, for my sins before I got back in to cycling.

And I have this as my work runaround as I commute by bike..

Blue one looks abit more shabby than that as the pic is 6 years ago, just passed 220k not had much more than an oil change in the last two years.

If I am honest since getting back in to cycling I would be happy with much smaller moreeco cars but 3 kids etc. Defintely getting shot of the top one in the sping and may well just get a six seater old Vito. Cars have really slipped with me in the last 2-3 years the UK roads are joyless, would rather be cycling than driving!
