Hi All

Here's the new bike. A GT GTR Series 4 Road Bike. I think I have a thing about GT bikes

I've actually had the bike for about 2-3 weeks now and have clocked up over 150miles on it. Its lovely.

This is the first road bike I have properly ridden (more than a mile) and it's taken me a little while to get used to the drops and in fact, I've since raised the saddle on my MTB

The brakes are also a little difficult getting used to. I am used to being able to stop on a penny with my MTB discs. Rim brakes on 700c tyres is a bit of a wake up call!

I cant accelerate to 30mph going uphill on the MTB though!

I do like GT bikes. I have a GT Legato flatbar road bike and it's a great ride.

Handlebars look like the could be twisted round a bit. That position looks awkward!

nice I have the 2010 tachyon same frame set up and gearing. just a few slight differences flat bars and fatter tyres prob the easiest to see you will be very happy I love mine front from the pics gear ratios look the same BIG ring is a fast one

I knew someone would mention the "lawn"

The fence is the neighbours, I would love to creosote it though. I miss that smell.

But, about the bike. Yeah, the bars do look a bit odd now you point it out. They seem comfortable enough to me. I will experiment with adjusting them a little bit. I could do with the hoods closer, but I dont want the brakes out of reach when on the drops.

The gears are "interesting" to say the least. Halfords didnt do a great job at sorting the limits and I havnt quite found that sweet spot yet. The big ring is fast though

I need to go clipless next!

There's no time for gardening when you get a new bike.......or housework......decorating........cooking
Hell, I dont even shop anymore unless it fits on the bike!!

But at least the forks are pointing the right way.

That picture, with the the bars and brakes set up like that, should be used in evidence whenever there's a post supporting Halfords.

Love it was going to buy a GTR series 5 but was £200 short, still loving my Defy though..
