My new toy has arrived!

In light on my current difficulties being confined to bed (www.cyclechat.net/threads/well-thats-me-off-my-bike-for-a-while.168606/) and only really able to lie down not sit up i had reached the conclusion that my laptop want much use to me and the smartphone was simply too small for practical use browsing the Internet, so last night we took the plunge and bought a tablet...

We had sworn we wouldn't get one etc because we already had a laptop and....

Well the new toy arrived this morning several hours earlier than expected and I now have it up and running.

I rather like it! I went for the Sony Xperia tablet Z2 (my smartphone is the Xperia XP) in the end with the 4G option... It is so much easier to use than my laptop when lying on my back

So can anyone recommend any apps that might help to keep me entertained?
I have downloaded things like bbc iplayerv and the other 4 channels but what else do people have that is free or very cheap?

I didn't see that thread saying you were out of action. I hope you mend soon!

New games every day and you can beat your own score.
+1 for scrabble, I play one called Lexulous via Facebook.

I like playing stuff like Angry Birds (you can get free versions), Township and if you like puzzle games, Disneys Free Fall...starts easy but gets difficult! It's free but has in-game purchases but I don't bother with those.
Scrabble is good and there's quite a few other word games. I also love Mahjong.

I liked the look of the Sony tablets but am making do with my old mk 1 8.9" Samsung Galaxy Tab.

I like Spider Solitaire. I also play Sudoku and Backgammon, though the Backgammon app is a bit annoying (it misses chances to avoid backgammons, and insists on me playing forced moves, piece by piece. Various interface annoyances too, but it was free so I shouldn't complain).

Living Earth is really stunning. I have it on my iPad, think I had to spend a few pence to get it but worth it.

You will need an app to store all your passwords. I use OneSafe but you can get free alternatives.
You will need the eBay app of course, the BBC news app is great and so is Daily Mail online one, both free.
If you're into movies the IMDB app is great and free and you'll need Skype.
Another useful one is Litely photo editing app, easy to use.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.butterfly2apps.litely&hl=en
