He's a lucky fella - bring on the choccies then !

Perhaps he thinks you need the practice if it took an hour per tyre last time ?
Or perhaps he might think, he could do it quicker and do it for her;)

Mr Summerdays can get away with murder if he does it the right way and gives me a cheeky grin! (though not if I'm in a bad mood!).

the new tyres are schwalbe's, not well known for being easy to fit when new and I thought I had made it clear that he could fit his own ********* tyres if he wanted new tyres on his bike. Still can't find any reason for this flat either, so its going to have to be new inner tube and new tyre if I'm not to be repeating the exercise next week. (I can usually fix a flat in around 10 mins - got very good at them on tour in Denmark a few years ago where I managed to average 2 a day for an entire 2 weeks due to touring on offroad tyres on a mtb and the grit/gravel going straight through the too soft compound.)

I think you should stick holes in his tyres, every day, for a week, until he learns how to repair a puncture, in under five minutes flat.

Failing that, just let his tyres down.

Put a few more holes in his tyres while he is out.

When he returns, insist on getting your wheels back and that he fixes his own punctures. While you are removing your wheels from his bike, slacken off the brakes and the headset.

^_^
and while you're at it, don't forget to rotate his bars a few degrees, move his saddle back a bit, helpfully reindex his derailleurs, and adjust his high and low screws......

OK puncture isn't fixed, can't find the hole at all but old tyres have perished side walls, so new inner tube and new tyres. Managed the first tyre in 6 mins but inflating took 10 mins! 2nd tyre change (to match other one else I know where we will be the same time next week) took a touch longer at 14 mins but included 1 telephone call, him to tell me he is on his way home. so now have 5-10 mins of him changing and 12 miles to get house looking 'better' and kitchen cleaner to hide any evidence that I have just simmered my chain in a pan of oil to clean it (worked really well it is just a real shame I have no pans older than 3 months!) time to reassemble my bike as far as possible and clean before he arrives home ready for his evening meal (yep, same pan).

Did I get my ride in? No.
any inkling of chocies? No.
ah well.
