Probably akin to the kind of thing some of us did when we were kids in the 60's - wedging bits of cardboard in-between the spokes to make motorbike noises!

I picked up a cheap set of unbranded rubber pedals the other day - I have to say that I much prefer them to the alloy MKS ones that were fitted when I bought the bike, despite being heavier.
Ive now ordered some better quality NOS Union rubber ones to go with the Stronglight TD2 chainset (3/32 34T) that should be fitted over the next week or so.
