I bought a Dawes mountain bike way back and it got stolen from right outside my front door. A few months later I saw it - resprayed white - and followed the guy to his home. A couple of friends & I paid him a visit later. Turns out he was the local drug dealer, going by the locks on his door. We got in though and got the bike back. I even phoned an ambulance for him. And the police.
This is only a phone photo, but I think it shows one of the reasons I choose to cycle all year round. It's not spectacular, but you won't see a view like this on a turbo-trainer

Today was mostly spent offroad.
