About a month ago Samsung told me my (two month old) phone would have to go back to their engineers - they'd have it picked up by UPS on Monday. Monday came and went. I rang on Tuesday morning - they were most apologetic and promised that they would definitely pickup today. They didn't. I rang again on Wednesday morning. Again, they promised a definite pickup today. Sure enough a UPS man turned up and took my phone away. Then on Friday, another UPS man turned up. Then, the following Tuesday, another one.
After a few days I rang Samsung again, and asked if they could at least confirm receipt. Oh yes, they said, it's been received. After a week, having heard nothing, I rang to ask when I'd have my phone back, reminding them of their 'five working days' promise. 'Ah,' they said. 'Well, sometimes it's five, sometimes it's seven. If you haven't had it back by seven days, ring us again and we'll give you the engineer's number so you can ask them direct.' Needless to say, it never turned up, so I rang and got the engineers number. And rang it. And held for 25 minutes. A day or two later I rang again, held for 10 minutes, then gave up and rang the main number again. The guy looked into it, came back and said 'we never received your phone'.
A few days later I had a call from UPS. 'We've found your phone in a jiffy bag, with a letter including your contact details. Would you like us to return it to you?' 'Yes,' I said. And amazingly, they did. I rang Samsung and brought them up to speed. They were very apologetic, and promised it would be picked up on Tuesday. No-one turned up. I rang on Wednesday morning. They promised to have it picked up today.
We shall see...
