🚴‍♂️ Looking for Strava-using cyclists to test a maintenance tracker app I've built

Hi all — I’ve developed a free web app called myBikeBuddy to help cyclists stay on top of bike maintenance. It’s something I built for my own family (we have a few too many bikes and varied setups — waxed chains, tubeless tyres, etc.), but I’m keen to see if it’s useful for others too. It's mobile friendly as well, and can install as an app on your home screen.

🔧 What it does:
  • Automatically syncs with your Strava rides
  • Tracks component wear, spending, and service history
  • Lets you set reminders and plan future maintenance
  • Stores documents like receipts and invoices
🧪 Why I’m posting: I’m looking for up to 50 Strava users who’d be happy to:
  • Try the app at myBikeBuddy
  • Share feedback on what's useful, what’s confusing, what’s missing, or what could be better

There’s no charge — just a genuine request for feedback from fellow riders to help polish the app. If you’re up for it, just hit Connect with Strava on the site to get started.

Thanks in advance (and thanks to the moderators for allowing this post) — and of course, I'm happy to answer any questions!

I wish you luck but feel you've created a solution looking for a problem. When I ride I see how my bike feels, before or after I will look at my chain, tyres etc. If maintenance is needed it gets done. Once a year each bike gets a full service. I don't need a spreadsheet for this.

Like an app of this type reminders on component wear, for example, can only be averages and probably based on original data from your own machines. An app can't possibly know if my chain need changing.

Good luck but I can't see any real use for this.

Thanks for the feedback - I realise it’s not for everyone - I built it for me, tracking 7 bikes to remember if I need to change sealant or not, how long ago I waxed or lubed the chain etc, and keeping track of when I last replaced bits and pieces. Some of its proactive some of its just that I want to know the history and how much wear I’ve had on components before I replaced them.

Lots of people already on there before I put this post up to get a few more testers onboard, so I hope it will be useful for a few more.

Sounds like a nice idea - presumably you need to specify the bike in strava each time you ride?

I have risen!

Ironing day today

But have you recorded it on your app?

You are aware this is built into Garmin Connect for free?
