How much you want to pay me not to reveal who your alternative identity is?:laugh::smile:

Nah, you wouldn't do that. I'm calling your bluff.

Every time I see your username by the way I pronounce it, in my head,
like this: Ian RAWWWK!

Ol' Alecsetc. has been keeping a low profile of late! ;)

Sometimes, with a selection of nuts, threads do get crossed and, although you feel screwed, you know that how it's pitched can make all the difference.

Good one zimzum!

You have only landed to vote out Gordon Brown haven't you? ;)

Really, I ought to create a second account for myself (Shaun permitting) called "Professor Pedant". Then I could really get to work on some of you guys and dominate the forum at last! ;):biggrin::evil::ohmy:

You don't 'vote out' or even 'vote in' Gordon Brown unless you happen to live in, and be registered in, his constituency. What you do is vote in or vote out the candidate for the constituency you live in. The rest of it all comes about from the resulting statistics. Honestly! It's as bad as all this debate about whether Road Tax really is "Road Tax" (yes I've read all the arguments).

But alas! I have no alter ego. I think my old username (minus the "661-") still exists but it's locked and dormant.

As for cheating in a twenty-questions game ... shame on you all! In the old days of the old radio programme (chaired by Kenneth Horne - anyone remember?) the team used to occasionally overhear the 'Mystery Voice' telling the audience - which of course they weren't supposed to. But they always owned up to the fact: they never 'cheated'.

Mind you, the technique I hinted at above isn't strictly speaking 'cheating' but it would have spoilt the game. In case anyone's puzzled, a binary tree search in twenty steps could identify one in 2^20 names - that's 1,048,576. Cyclechat is doing well but it hasn't got that many members - yet!

Sorry for being evil, I'll make sure to have myself suppressed.
