Sorry, I was making an obviously far too subtle joke about his incredibly strong Bristol accent!

Oh arrrrrr.... Missed that one..

I have seen worse behavior,He does not run into anyone and its quite patient with the elderly and girls of a certain age.

What this video does not show is what happens if he approaches a marked Ped crossing when the pedestrians has the right of way, does he stop for them?
It only shows when he runs to people who are meandering in the road inappropriately, and he is not especially rude to them, unless of course I missed that.

Riding through York to the start of the FNRttC a pedestrian, walking a little unsteadily on the pavement in front of me toppled into a heap in the road, and proceeded to roll around a bit. I detoured round him. I didn't shout at him.

I can sympathise...a little. Although I lost most of that when he was telling a kid to use a crossing in a "use the cycle lane" way

And some camera angles might make things look closer - I know in my similar but more tongue-in-cheek tackling of the zombie-pedestrian issue, things look like I went right up to people when I really didn't.

Still, I think I had a better angle on it

I did that once. Thought I'd squeeze a few miles in at lunch. Never again! It's like a slalom of call centre staff.

Probably take out a few lawyers though...it's not all bad ;)

It's a high pedestrian area, steer clear or slow right down is the answer. It's full of tourists.

Seriously, on main roads, fair enough, but if you're cycling down very busy shopping streets in the centre of a tourist town you can't bomb about at 20mph and expect to never have to slow down. Just common sense says to go slowly in these areas, just the same as we expect motorists to do (and the vast majority do).

Lunchtime? Pah! Get down when the market is on, now that's a challenge!!

A woman once nailed me with her open gym hold all there one evening, when she swung it on the big strap with some velocity. Such was the force that one of her shoes flew out and into the Tyne. A real shame that.

Back on this Yorkshire clown, he really isn't doing himself or cyclists any favours with his nonsense. Reminds me of someone...

To be fair to them, the pedestrians just look faintly surprised and apologetic. I had a woman KO me once stepping out of nowhere onto the road. I skidded off across the road on my side with the chain right off, moved back onto the pavement to check she was okay and put the chain back on (she was totally fine, she basically just sort-of shoved me in last second surprise) and I got a right earful from her! I like to think she was so shaken up that her natural reaction was just to blame the other person instantly, but she harassed me for not cycling away like my presence on the pavement was purposeful punishment until the moment I managed to loop it back on and escape from that crazy lady.

You have to tolerate people not being that sharp, especially in places where it's not common to have cyclists going quickly. I'm always wary around train stations, I have an unproved theory that day visitors to the big smoke are least likely to look left and right if they can't hear a car engine.
