Interestingly, I put Marin Pine Mountain into the Facebook Marketplace search engine. Quite a lot of hits from newer models, one 1989 frameset and three 1993 models, ie the one I have. While I don't doubt they were all in fab condition compared to mine, the cheapest was £250...
So, assuming no other gotchas crop up, I've really done well here!

Went to the tip to drop bits and some garden waste. Came back with a 3x8 Deore LX Marin Pine Mountain. Tange frame, Mavic rims, Spesh tyres, even a set of Cateye lights! Looks in good shape, but even if the frame is toast, the parts are worth the money.
£15...

Just went out and examined it closely as today I'm not dodging the rain every 5 minutes.
Full Deore, XT M737 groupset, LX chainset. XT Parallax hubs. I'm thinking that it might be all original, on the cusp of 93/94 model years. M737 a 1994 groupset, it seems.

Regardless of whether it's 100% original or not, it's a damn good bike for the money! I'd be well pleased with something like that turning up, most of the very cheap/free stuff I encounter is low end.
