In Surrey they think Box hill is a climb!
Naah it's just a warmer up for the tougher climbs

Why don't you just run a full compact with a 28T rear?

If you live in the UK, there is NO road that requires a 32T unless you're planning to cycle up the side of Big Ben....

I've done numerous 20%+ climbs on a 38/25T combo and I no mountain goat at all @ 92kg.

I think you're really overlooking a lot of amazing bikes because you're transfixed on having a 32T rear.
Have to disagree
With my legs, Barhatch Lane aka Winterfold Hill reaches over 21%
Did Wrynose last year - 30%
I would never get up these with 11-28

Hi again,

Just in case it's not possible to find a 2016 Kona Roadhouse in the OP's size and if the 2017 model is now beyond budget following it's component upgrade but price increase to £3,500 (I think) one option in between might be the Fairlight Strael.

Admittedly it's more expensive than the 2016 Roadhouse which had an RRP of £1,800 but can now be seen for roughly £1,300 to £1,500

The Fairlight Strael is available in different builds from £1,850 to £3,000

I've not had time to look into the geometry and so I don't know if it's a relaxed audax / endurance type geometry or whether it's more racy but maybe it's something to think about if it doesn't completely break the bank / budget because unfortunately it's not a cheap bargain option.
