I have always enjoyed his music. Just listened to the "best of" then listened to it again.
He has written some amazing songs. Sad that he he is not well.
Obviously not to everyones taste so interested in your views.

No*. It's the sort of music that my mum (if she was still alive) would listen to and it really doesn't appeal at all. The lyrics of his songs are nothing special and the music is just so old hat.

*Apart from Beautiful Sound which I find very bouncy and uplifting for some reason.

Neil Diamond is one of those 'inhertence' artists... my mother 'loved' him and seemingly watched The Jazz Singer on a weekly basis, so all the songs from that movie are very familiar and take me to a happy place... just like hearing The Carpenters does.

It took me a long time to discover his absolute gems though; Shilo, The Boat that I Row and Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show, to name a few.

He did have really bad hair though.
