Netflix.......how long before "new films" are on Netflix ??

I am thinking of Netflix or Amazon but know nothing about them.
My reasoning is.........
I don't particularly enjoy the experience of going to the cinema and it is always so loud.....it hurts my ears.
We have bought a BIG TV so for £8.00 (ish) per month I can enjoy them on our own big screen.
BUT...............
How long after being in the cinema do they get to Netflix ?? As an e.g. AbFab has been on at the Cinema but we missed it............when will that be on Netflix/Amazon ?

I am told that Amazon is quicker for suffer from "buffer" problems and they charge extra for new releases....don't know if that is correct.
Any thoughts ????

Don't know the answer to your question but FWIW I've just cancelled my Netflix.

Whilst there appears to be loads of choice the fact is the vast majority of it is dross, IMHO.

I looked into Amazon Prime out of curiosity but as they charge more for paying monthly that went out the window as well.

If you want movies, Sky have most of the new stuff first (but not everything) and claim to have 1,000 movies available to download.

However, if you want then without the faff of installing a dish and a long term contract, buy a NowTV box (£24.99 with 2 months Sky Cinema), then buy NowTV 2 months Sky Cinema passes from Argos at £15 a time (£7.50/month - direct from NowTV it's £9.99/month on a monthly basis). No contract and you can stop and start as you like, just buying pases as you want them.

I have Netflix, only good for things like Breaking Bad, Narco's etc.

Get an Amazon Firestick, add KODI, and the YouTube 'TopTutorials' and install latest Hyper TT build. All the latest films streamed to your telly. Or so I hear....

You can buy the now passes on eBay as well. I must add, that although sky says they have 1000 films, some of them are B movies. Some of them are dire......

You're not wrong - while they do have a lot of blockbusters they've also started adding a lot of movies you've never heard of lately.

Both work fine including in HD over a decent enough internet connection when available.. You can get both on monthly contracts and cancel easily enough with a months notice.

The content varies a lot with some quality films and some really poor ones on both. Best to just give it a go and see what you think.

Bit naughty,but get one of these boxes.I find the already installed Mobdro app is the best for all the Sky channels.

Depends.

As a f'rinstance regarding films, I'm currently watching Sicario (September 2015) , while Mrs M watches Brooklyn (Jan 2016). The rule of thumb, I think, is Netflix for TV, Prime for films, although that holds true only so long as the things you want to watch are present. There are enough differences between the two for us to justify both services, although we don't pay for Sky, BT Vision or anything like that.

Netflix has a lot of very good original programming (there's a new David Cross special they've just commissioned that I'm keen to watch, there's Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Narcos, Marco Polo...) but Amazon have some decent offerings too (Vikings, for instance, is oddly compelling, Transparent was very good indeed). The other issue, of course, is that if the distributor has negotiated an exclusive with another service, you'll never see it on Netflix or Prime. (Game of Thrones, I'm told, is reserved for HBOs own streaming service - The Walking Dead does seem to come to Prime, but with a long wait indeed).

If you absolutely have to watch things as soon after release as possible, you'll need to either pay to stream, or buy the Blu-Ray.

Netflix is good for us as there is alot of content for the kids to watch and plenty of box sets for the wife.

I managed to watch most of the interesting (to me) films within a month or so..

They do have new films appearing often but not all the new films.

Films on Netflix not great. We keep it for the kids stuff.
Use internet TV box, install kodi and download suitable apps. If you've got a good internet connection it's got all you could want.
