My SkyQ is working fine through a Devolo adapter.

Have you done speed tests on them cos my old bt ones after a day were running at about 20% speed. Rebooting never solved it. Read up on and it's a common problem.

Yep - I get 15mbps at the SkyQ box from a 20mbps connection. The Sky installers were fine with it.

I use a power line WiFi extender in the garage and it's fast enough.

You can cut an existing Cat 6 cable and re-use it no problem. I ran a 15metre extension cable with RJ45 connectors on each end, clipped to the top of my skirting boards. If you get the right colour cable, its pretty unobtrusive and you forget it's there after a couple of days. You can get an RJ45 crimp tool for about £4 on ebay, and a network cable tester for a couple of quid. It's a doddle.

Edit: I used Cat 5e cable but I think that Cat 6 is pretty similar.

I must admit to not bothering with cabling any more. Powerline adaptors work so well at home it's not worth the effort.
