Until my wife passed I had 55 happy years. Even the last 4 years with long covid couldn't destroy what we had.
If these animals can restore some of that pleasure I will welcome it .....though I confess to having doubts.

Due to age/health my daughter and family are moving in to my house.
They have 3 dogs and a cat.
Main dog is a lovely dog/bitch....a golden lab**.
2 small fluffy terrier types.
Cat is, well, just a cat of some sort.
**lab is lovely. Used to be too lively for me but is 12 years old now and (fortunately) slowing down.
Life is going to get interesting.

My wife is going away for a week at the end of this month and she is taking Molly with her ( girlie week with her daughter) so I will be on my own, I will miss her.
