New bike - Focus Izalco Pro 2.0 - updated March 2014

I picked this up from my LBS earlier today... looking forwards to getting out on it and playing endlessly with the Di2

I had a Retul fit, but was advised that I could lose at least half of the spacers without too much loss of comfort/form. I will get this done and the steerer cut when it goes back for it's 1 month check-over.

If you're thinking about 'slamming the stem' - and you should, it will look more 'pro' - why not take the spacers out now (yourself - it's a 1 minute job) and put them above the stem without cutting the steerer for now?

You can then work out for yourself how high you want the stem, before you get it cut. Downside is you'll then forget about it, and carry on riding with the stem uncut like this

I will do that anyway - what I meant is that I will ask the LBS to cut the steerer at the first service, once I've fiddled with the spacers a bit.

Now that is some bike!!! Have you had experience of Di2 before? If not how was it 'the first time'...just wondering as I'd love to be able to afford it but not in reach...at the moment anyway!!!!

Bit of an update for 2014... I have been off my bike for a few months due to gallstones and subsequent surgery to remove my gallbladder.

Anyway, whilst I've not been riding I've been pampering the Izalco, and replaced a few bits to (a) make it unique to me and (b) lose a little weight.
New bits are :

Fizik Cryano R3 bars
Fizik Pro 3mm tape
Rotor 3D+ crankset (new 2014 graphics)

Michelin Pro4 Service Course tyres
Michelin Aircomp Ultralight tubes

As far as I know I was one of the first to get the new Fizik bars and stem in the UK. Certainly the first from my LBS. First impressions are good - they weigh less than the 3T stuff that came off, and the Bull fitment bars are extremely comfortable.

It's now 7.05kg (15.5lb), which isn't bad considering the Di2 bits and bobs. A set of Planet X CNC brakes and I would practically be at the UCI limit.

I went for my first post-op ride last Sunday. Here are some pics after I'd cleaned it once I got back (there's still loads of water around in the New Forest).
