It doesn't. The seat post is part of the frame. It has to be cut to the size of the riders saddle height. The cap that fits over the tube has about 20-30 mm of adjustment but that's it. I took my enigma over to the shop to use as a guide. We measured, measured again then a final measurement before cutting the tube to the right height. It's bang on the same height as the enigma, and I measured the Cervelo when I got home and it's the same as that so I'm happy we got it exactly right.

Does that mean that you could only ever sell it on to a rider with similar length or shorter legs?

It's possible to repair carbon frames, so I suppose it might be possible to lengthen the seat post, or even re-attach the bit that was cut off.
