Hi guys. .can anyone recommend a decent road bike for under 500 pounds. .been looking for ages but its all a bit confusing... Thanks

The bike of the moment in that price range is the Btwin Triban 3 from Decathlon. Quite a few people on here have them and love them. 6061 alloy frame with carbon forks and Shimano 2300 drivetrain.

It's due to be replaced soon by the white "3A" version which isn't as nicely specced. There is also the Triban 5 at £500 (also soon to be replaced by the lower spec 5A version) which adds carbon seat stays and a Sora drivetrain.

I can very highly recommend the Specialized Allez, its just a touch over the 500 mark (£550) in Evans at tho mo.I loved my Allez Sport till some scum half inched it in Stockwell.
