Good work, I'm so glad someone has bought one and posted pictures, because I was getting to the point where I was tempted myself! The Rolls and Carradice look absolutely spot on as well. It is good to see a genuinely desirable Dawes on sale again. What's it like to ride?

It's an absolute joy to ride, such a smooth ride. I took it down some seriously bad roads, and it soaked up the lumps & bumps with ease. The Tiagra groupset was surprisingly smooth and changes gear with a reassuring click. I went out this afternoon, I did 41 miles and really enjoyed riding the bike. I had to make a couple of stops to make minor adjustments to the saddle height, the saddle itself is very comfy. I am pleased I bought it and you're right it does look the part on the bike, along with the carradice saddlebag.

Ours has arrived, too not built up yet though.

We've also just received a pair of replacement mudguards as Spa weren't happy that the ones supplied didn't have breakaways on the mudguard stays. Excellent service from Spa, I have to say.

Glad to see that on first ride impressions you agree that it's a really smooth bike, lazyj.

I also received some mudguards from spa yesterday, fantastic customer service!

Hi Jay, as a Century owner I was hoping you could help me with something. I've got a frame which i believe to be very similar to that of the century (reynolds 520) but I can't find a front mech that will fit exactly. The reynolds seat tube is 28.8mm rather than the normal 28.6. Could you possibly tell me if the front mech on your frame fits perfectly or if it looks like a 28.6 clamp?

I like the look of that so much I don't think I would be using it as the winter bike...I think we have it arse about tit with winter bikes, there would certainly be a market for a cheapish generic carbon frame with guard clearances for winter use.

It seems to be heading that way, I have cycled more miles on this bike in the 2 months I have had it than I have on my other bikes since January, it really is such a joy to ride.
