Fellow members,

It is time for a new car (and we like new ones irrespective of the depreciation  ) It will probably be kept for 10+ years assuming we like it. In the past we have had a Peugeot 2008 and rather liked it, but daughter managed to convince us to swap it with her so we ended up with a Toyota Aygo which is a bit small. So, since we liked the 2008 we have been looking at small SUV types and have come up with the following short list
in order of cost :

SEAT Arona
VW T-Cross
Peugeot 2008
Toyota Yaris Cross

We like some bits of all cars, but not all bits of any car, so dear forumites, do you have any opinions, ideas, other options that could help us decide ?

Thanks
Andrew

Petrol only or would you consider hybrid/electric given the direction the industry is moving?
What's your budget?

The Yaris Cross is seriously ugly, especially when you compare it to the much nicer Yaris. SIL has one and it really is fugly.

Ive seen a few cars like that, seems to be a design trend! Time for some dark glasses to prevent eyesore!!

If you like the Peugeot, look at the Citroen C3 Aircross. It should fit your needs well.

We purchased a new T.Cross in September last - took 5 months to get here though.

Black Edition 110 with Winter Pack for under 25k. Tons & tons of kit and we got it in no-cost Ascot Grey - and we've had nothing but favourable comments on the colour from a good number of people.

Smooth, quiet and comfortable. More than enough real world performance - quickly gets up to motorway speeds and is economical on a decent run.

Over the years we've had a whole stack of cars (mainly company cars) from hot hatches to sporty people carriers (oxymoron there) and some mile-crushing German execu-barges. But truly, this is one of the nicest cars we have ever had despite some of the above costing a whole lot more a couple of decades back.

Usual VW quality too.

The Seat Arona is nice too although Mrs SD preferred the boxier T.Cross look plus we couldn't get hot seats (part of the winter pack) on the Seat and this was a deal-breaker for the Good Lady.

Worth a test drive at the very least.
